CrossFire is a combination of Stephen's years in Australian Cattle dogs and Judi's 20 some years in German Shorthaired Pointers. CrossFire Kennels is a family business combining many years of canine experience. Our backgrounds in dogs include: AKC and UKC Conformation Shows, AKC Herding Competition, AKC Hunt Tests for Pointing Breeds, gun dogs (rabbit dogs, retrievers and pointers), rough stock dogs, rodeo dogs, obedience, agility, therapy dogs, 4-H Dog Programs and veterinary technician's experience.
Stephen has spent a lifetime with dogs from growing up with his father's hunting beagles to working ranch and rodeo dogs. Having decided to show dogs after years of showing and grooming horses, he came out of the box with a bang finishing numerous Championships with placements in Groups with both his own and client dogs.
Judi got her start in Shorthairs after meeting an adorable litter of 7 week old pups. Purchasing one as a personal gun dog, she decided to venture into showing and obedience and immediately was "hooked". She has successfully trained and competed in conformation, obedience and hunt tests. As a local 4-H leader, she has assisted many youngsters with training and competition with their dogs. Since meeting and marrying Stephen, she has shown Australain Cattle Dogs and ventured into the world of herding.
Our three daughters have literally grown up with a lead in their hands. Our oldest, Cassy, has competed with dogs in conformation and obedience and now competes with her Schipperkes. Our middle daughter, Katie, has competed in conformation and obedience and is currently training a dog for herding and assists in training the bird dogs, and enjoys hunting over our beagle. Both Cassy and Katie were "shown" for the first time when they were just two years old by our veteran German Shorthaired Pointer, Ch Von Treffend's Summer Surprise, SH - "Kelly" who knew the ropes and taught the kids a few tricks! Our youngest daughter, Cori, has entered the world of show dogs in match shows and is currently bravely trying to train her Beagle in obedience!
